cMISSISSAUGA – Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar earlier this week visited the Khalsa School Malton in Mississauga for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of a new computer lab.
Kumar and his friend Toronto-businessman Ajay Virmani generously donated state of the art equipment to this computer lab including the latest computers and visual display devices.
The technology supplied to this learning institution will make it one of the most advanced in the province and will allow them to continue expansion and modernizing technology in their curriculum.
“Our entire congregation and community are extremely thankful to Mr. Akshay Kumar for his generous contribution to the Khalsa School (Malton),” said Daljit Singh Sekhon, President Sri Guru Singh Sahba Gurdwara.
This donation allows for the children in the school to obtain a distinct advantage with these advanced learning tools. Mr. Kumar through his philanthropic contribution continues to demonstrate his love and support for children around the globe,
“It was a wonderful experience to visit the Khalsa School (Malton) and meet all of the children,” Kumar said in a joint statement with Virmani
“Both Ajay and I are very blessed and strongly believe in giving back to society and in particular local communities. This year, we have also launched a new charity foundation, “HERO’s 4Humanity”. Our hero’s of choice this year were the University Hospital Network and the Khalsa School. Children are our future and we must continue to invest in them and ensure their foundations are strong. When we were approached to work with the school and invest in a computer lab for the children, we knew this was one of the best contributions we would be making”.
