JAIPUR – Fighting to stave off the stink generated in the case of missing nurse Bhanwari Devi, Rajasthan was rocked again on Tuesday by another sleazy CD case allegedly involving politicians, blackmail and, this time, police officials too.

A woman has accused her husband of tricking and prostituting her. She has accused 17 people including former BJP Lok Sabha MP Nihalchand Meghwal and former BJP minister from the state Jogeshwar Garg of raping her.

She has also named Youth Congress member and former Rajasthan University Students’ Union president Pushpendra Bhardwaj and Anil Rao, assistant commissioner of police, Sodala, among her alleged rapists.

The woman from Sirsa in Haryana, according to her matriculation certificate, is 20 years old, but she claims she is 17.  The woman said she had married Som Prakash (name changed) on December 20, 2010.

She has charged her husband, a property dealer, with having drugged her on several occasions and pimped her.

She has alleged she was raped several times between February and September in Jaipur and her husband filmed the acts and blackmailed her rapists for money.

After the sessions court directed the police to register a case on her complaint, an FIR was lodged at a police station in the city on Tuesday.

Meghwal denied any links with the woman, but the other accused maintained silence and claimed to be cooperating with the police investigation.
