RAJKOT – A 19-year-old girl was gang-raped in Gariyadhar town of Bhavnagar district on the intervening night of February 16 and 17. According to her complaint, three youths broke into her house at Pachegam Road when she was asleep and raped her.
She said that the three youths gagged her and then raped one after another at knife-point. “I was scared and could not tell anyone soon after the incident,”‘ she said in her complaint. She named Dasrath Patel, Sura Velji and Anil Brahmin, all from Gariadhar, as the accused.
The episode came to light when she was admitted to hospital after severe abdominal pain on Friday. She was first taken to local hospital in Gariadhar and then referred to Bhavnagar. The Bhavnagar police rushed to the hospital and took her complaint and forwarded it to Gariadhar police station.
Police have booked the absconding accused under various sections of Indian Penal code, including 450 (House-trespass in order to commit offence), 376 (Punishment for rape) among others.
