SURREY – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) busted at least four international students from India believed to be working illegally in Surrey.

The students were arrested CBSA officials on Monday and could face removal from Canada.

“Members of the CBSA’s Enforcement and Intelligence Division arrested a number of foreign nationals in Surrey, believed to be working without authorization in Canada,” a CBSA spokesperson told the Province newspaper in an emailed statement.

CBSA said the arrested individuals – the exact number of arrested is unknown but has been reported to be as high as 8 or 10, are being processed in accordance with Canadian immigration laws. They were believed to be in violation of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), which the CBSA is responsible for enforcing.
