ESSA, Ont. – Provincial Ontario police have identified the body of a man whose body was found in a car that was gutted by a fire early Sunday.
The victim is identified as 39-year-old Herminder Bhandal of Brampton, Ont., and police say he is considered to be the victim of a homicide.
His body was found in the vehicle in Essa Township, near Innisfil, after the fire had been extinguished.
A joint investigation is now under way involving the OPP’s criminal investigation branch and the Peel Regional Police homicide unit.
Police have not indicated if say they are seeking any specific suspects.
