Indo-Canadian Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With Surrey City Truck

A motorcyclist, who was identified on facebook as Navjot Singh Grewal, was killed in Newton shortly after noon Monday when his bike crashed into the side of a City of Surrey pickup truck.

SURREY — An Indo-Canadian motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon after his bike crashed into the side of a City of Surrey pickup truck. He is the second Indo-Canadian motorcyclist to be involved in a deadly accident in less than a week in Surrey.

The dead 25-year-old man has been identified on facebook as Navjot Singh Grewal, although the Surrey RCMP is yet to confirm the deceased man’s identity.

Last week, another motorcyclist from the community crashed into three Indo-Canadian teen near a Surrey high school and killed one of the girls, a Grade 12 student named Amarpreet Sivia.

The accident occurred when the pickup truck was reportedly making a left turn onto 86th Avenue from 132nd Street when the southbound motorcycle slammed into its passenger side, at about 12:30 p.m.

Grewal, who according to sources got his license just weeks ago, died in hospital.

Police said there was a second motorcycle, but its driver was able to stop in time.
