Video Showing Sitting Congress MLA In Sex Act Goes Viral

NEW DELHI – A 16-secondvideo clip, purportedly showinga sitting MLA in a sex actand widely circulated throughmobile file-sharing applicationWhatsapp, has thrown theCongress’ poll preparations inIndore’s Depalpur assemblyconstituency into disarray andpitted two ticket-seekersagainst each other justweeks ahead of theelections.Madhya Pradesh isamong the five stateswhere Assembly pollswill be held inNovember-December.Polling in the state hasbeen scheduled forNovember 25.The Congress is trying to dislodgethe BJP government inthe state and the video clipcould not have come at theworst time for the party.Sitting Congress MLA fromDepalpur Satyanarayan Patelsobbed uncontrollably during apress briefing on Wednesdayafter the clip, which purportedlyshowed him in a compromisingposition with a woman,went viral in the constituencyfrom Tuesday night.Patel, a rich farmer who owns ahelicopter, was camping inNew Delhi for the last twodays to claim the ticket forDepalpur but rushed to Indoreon Tuesday night to clear hisname before media.”The video is morphed,” saidPatel, 45, his voice chokingwith emotion. “I am saying thisin presence of my son andnephew,” he added.Patel, son of ex-Congress MLA andformer deputy ministerRameshwarPatel, blamed VishalPatel, a rivalCongress contenderfor the ticket, ofpreparing the video.Vishal Patel’s niece Monica ismarried to Satyanarayan Patel’sson Vinod, 21. Their marriagetook place last year.”It’s a conspiracy aimed atblackmailing me. It was doneto defame me and kill mychances of getting the ticket,”Satyanarayan told presspersons.Half an hour later, VishalPatel, son of ex-CongressMLA Jagdish Patel, also held apress conference to deny thecharges.
