Canada-Wide Arrest Warrant Sought For Varun Aurora!

Varun(AKA Vinny)  Aurora and David Nelson Humeniuk , who ran Concrete Equities Inc, a commercial real estate venture, allegedly bilked 1,300 investors from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, out of millions in a massive investment fraud scheme. Humeniuk was arrested and a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Varun Aurora.

CALGARY – An Indo-Canadian man is among two people charged in a massive multi-million dollar fraud investigation.

The RCMP Calgary Financial Integrity have charged Varun(AKA Vinny)  Aurora and David Nelson Humeniuk in an alleged $23 million fraud case involving a commercial real estate venture.

RCMP say they have completed an investigation into a commercial real estate venture, operated by Concrete Equities Inc., which raised money from Canadian investors to buy undeveloped beach properties in Senora, Mexico, called the El Golfo de Santa Clara Project, reported CTV Calgary.

Investigators say that the funds were raised through Offering Memorandums and were RRSP eligible and that the company and all of its related corporations went into receivership in 2009.

Humeniuk and Aurora are alleged to have provided false information to investors, diverted funds to other business ventures outside of the investment agreement and stole investors funds between June 4, 2007 and May 13, 2009.

Humeniuk is also charged with one count of theft and money laundering for allegedly taking $1M of investors’ funds for personal use.

Aurora and Humeniuk are also charged with three counts of fraud over $5,000 and one count of theft over $5,000.  Humeniuk is also charged with theft over $5,000 and one count of money laundering.

Humeniuk, of St. Albert, has been arrested and released and is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on February 27th, 2014.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Varun (AKA Vinny) Aurora. Police believe Aurora may have left the country.

Police allege the accused promised investors returns of more than 500 per cent if they invested in the development.

Funds were raised for the project through offering memorandums and were RRSP eligible.

Concrete Equities and all of their related corporations went into receivership in 2009.

Investigators allege that between June 4, 2007 and May 13, 2009, Humeniuk and Aurora provided false information to investors, diverted funds to other business ventures outside the investment agreement and stole investors’ funds.

Police say the loss to investors from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario as a result of this fraud and theft exceeds $23 million.
