NEW YORK – An Indo-American youth, who found hisparents shot to death in theirhome seven years ago, has himselfbeen found dead inPhiladelphia, according tomedia reports.The body of 20-year-old PulkitSingh, a student at theUniversity of PennsylvaniaWharton School, was discoveredon January 12 in his offcampusroom, Newsday websitereported.The cause of death is beinginvestigated by Philadelphiahealth department and campuspolice.Criminality has not been suspectedbut a health departmentofficial told The DailyPennsylvanian, a college newspaper,that the cause of deathmight not be determined formonths.Grieving over the death ofSingh, his uncle Joginder Singhsaid: “He was the star of ourfamily, and he had a brain thatcould think at least 10 or 12years ahead of his time.”In January 2007, brothers Pulkitand Ankur Singh, then 13 and12, returned home from schoolto find their parents, Jaspal (46)and Geeta (38), shot to death inthe New York hamlet ofSyosset in Nassau County.In 2011, Singh told Newsdaythat he was haunted by the discoveryof his slain parents andby the fact that the killer wasstill on the loose.”I don’t feel like we’re evergoing to find out who did it,” hesaid. “Knowing what happenedwould help us bring justice toour family and peace to ourfamily.”Police said at the time theybelieved the parents, who immigratedto the US from India,had been targeted. NassauCounty police were unable tocomment on the status of theircase.Singh and his younger brotherhave lived with their uncle sincetheir parents’ deaths.His body was cremated at theNassau Suffolk Crematory inLake Ronkonkoma, accordingto reports.
