Pakistan’s capital has beendeclared as ‘extremely dangerous’by interior ministry due tothe presence of sleeper cells ofal-Qaida, a report said.

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s capitalhas been declared as”extremely dangerous” by theinterior ministry due to the presenceof sleeper cells of bannedterror groups like al-Qaida, areport said on Wednesday.According to the report,Islamabad is at high risk becauseof the presence of sleeper cellsof the banned organisationsincluding including al-Qaida,Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)and Lashkar-e-Jahngvi (LeJ).Banned outfits of PakistaniTaliban and LeJ are a real threatin Punjab while the target killers,al-Qaida and LeJ are targetingSindh, Geo TV reported.The interior ministry report willbe presented before the standingcommittee of NationalAssembly. The capital wasrecently put on high alert fornearly a week after a suicidebomb blast in Rawalpindi lastmonth. Heavy security checkswere introduced while alertswere sent out to all embassiesand high commissions here.The embassies had warned itscitizens here to avoid a numberof places in the capital.
