DAVANAGERE – Gujaratchief minister Narendra Modion Tuesday chose to pick thehot topic of Telangana and thesentiments of the people ofSeemandhra to step up histirade against the Congress.Addressing a well-attendedrally—’Bharata Gellisi’ (Vote forIndia)—in Davanagere, 255kmfrom Bangalore in centralKarnataka, Modi said: “SoniaGandhi and Rahul Gandhicame to the south, but they didn’tfind time to go to neighbouringAndhra Pradesh.Today, the troubles, smallrequests and problems of thepeople of Seemandhra need tobe heard. They need to be comforted.But both have no time.Politics can’t be this heartless.”Modi dedicated most of his 43-minute speech to criticizing theCongress and its first family. Hecalled the party a “disease” andthe Nehru family “fakeGandhis”. “It’s a disease whichis destroying the country. If youhave to save Hindustan andbuild the future of the youth,you have to ensure a CongressfreeIndia. Don’t leave a trace ofit, for it doesn’t take long tospread and destroy the country,”he said. The Gujarat CMdidn’t mince words to ridiculethe Gandhis. “Congress leaderssay their party is an ‘idea’. It wasindeed an ‘idea’ when MahatmaGandhi was alive. Now, afterthe fake Gandhis’ arrival, theparty has been left thinking. Theparty behaves as if it’s the onlyone with ideas.
