Badals’ Fuel Bill For 21 Months Shocking Rs 14 Crore

CHANDIGARH – Punjab chief ministerParkash Singh Badal and his son anddeputy, Sukhbir Singh Badal, have spentRs 14 crore from the state government’scoffers since their Akali Dal governmentcame to power in March 2012. Roparbasedadvocate Dinesh Chadha’s RTIquery has revealed this.The total fuel bill of all ministers in theAkali Dal-BJP combine and chief parliamentarysecretaries is Rs 30 crore. Thiseven as Punjab is reeling under a debt ofRs 1 lakh crore.Badal senior alone has run up a bill of Rs8.22 crore between March 14, 2012 andDecember 2013 and the deputy chiefminister Rs 5.9 crore during the sameperiod. The RTI also revealed the chiefminister’s motorcade has 32 vehicles,thrice that of even Prime MinisterManmohan Singh, who has nine.According to a recent report, the PM’scavalcade has two armoured BMW series7 sedans, six diesel guzzling BMW X3and a Mercedes Benz ambulance. Badalsenior’s motorcade consists of a HyundaiElantra, three Toyota Camrys, sevenToyota Innovas, eight Ambassadors and21 police Gypsies. Sukhbir’s motorcadehas an Innova, a Camry, nineAmbassadors and eight police Gypsies.
