Excessive Drinking May Have Cause His Death!

US-based Punjabi rapper Amardeep Singh Basra, an NRI who is popularly known as Deep Cold, was found dead in mysterious circumstances at a hotel in Phagwara, Punjab Wednesday.

PHAGWARA – US-based Punjabi rapperAmardeep Singh Basra (36), an NRI whois popularly known as Deep Cold, wasfound dead in mysterious circumstancesat a hotel here Wednesday.Phagwara Superintendent of PoliceGursewak Singh Brar said the body hadbeen sent for a postmortem to PhagwaraCivil Hospital.Brar said Basra was intown to attend the wedding of an NRIfriend Inder Singh and was staying at thehotel with three other friends.The cause of the death could be excessiveconsumption of liquor, said Brar.Basra belonged to Saloh village of SBSNagar. He is survived by his wife and twochildren.Basra was from Americansouthern state of Texas and attended thesame Huston high school as Paul Walland Chamillionaire. His first interest inmusic came at a young age when a tightfamily house hold income made him seekother avenues/interests.After a rough year in 2000, Deep Coldwas forced to re-evaluate his position anddecided to co-create Da 1 Records withhis cousin. Deep Cold released his debutalbum In Trunks Now in 2005 on hisindependent label. It featured bigSouthern Rap names such as Slim Thug,David Banner, Big Moe, Big Pokey aswell as Too Short. Since then he has personallysigned new artists Lenny Lennand Kamla Punjabi to the label and hasplayed a major role in the financing oftheir album. “I don’t have a specific styleof music that can be categorized. I makemusic that transcends hate, barriers andrace.
