Surrey – Two Surrey residents are facing aseries of charges in connection with anattempted robbery and shooting inLangley.Christopher Carl Agin, 29, and RosemaryManyphone Souriyavong, 23, appeared inSurrey Provincial Court over two days,and are scheduled to appear again nextmonth, according to court documentsonline.Langley RCMP responded to the 8300-block of 216 Street, in Walnut Grove,Sunday after getting calls about shotshaving been fired.“Fortunately, an off-duty officer in thearea took note of activity and was able toaccess his police vehicle & radio to familiarizehimself with the situation andpolice response,” Cpl. Holly Marks saidin a news release.“This, in combination with officers fromSurrey Detachment in the area for anotherinvestigation allowed for a quick policeresponse.She said the house targeted for entry byseveral suspects was a licenced medicalmarijuana grow operation.“The shooting took place in or aroundthe grow operation and the motive isunder investigation. One individual sustaineda non-life threatening gunshotwound and a second was treated forinjuries received during an assault. Thesetwo males are associated to the licensedgrow,” Marks said.She said both the Lower Mainland PoliceDog Services and the EmergencyResponse Team assisted in the search andarrest of the suspects.“Police seized a firearm as part of theinvestigation,” Marks said.Agin, who has a lengthy criminal recorddating back to 2003, is facing six charges– using a firearm to commit an offence,discharge of a firearm with intent towound, break and enter, aggravatedassault, assault causing bodily harm andpossession of a restricted firearm withammunition. Souriyavong is charged withthe first three counts.
