Rituals have significant role in all religions. Obviously, from naming, baptismal and to last rites people follow the procedures given in the scriptures and the practices which are rampant in their faiths or in communities. Festivals are not exception they also carry some rituals.
I was happy to participate in the celebration of Navratra and New Hindu Year last week and opening of Baishakhi celebration in Surrey City Hall. Sikhs and Hindus are preparing for huge celebration of Baishakhi Mela. I was deeply preoccupied in my festival mood and when I got invitation from my old friend-Father M.Appavoo to attend. The Holy Eucharist on 15th April at C.C. Cathedral in Vancouver that affirmed my multi-faith. The program started with procession of clergies who were clad in white robes. Prayers from the holy Isiah, Psalm and John were recited. Renewal of Ordination Vows was carried by all the Laity, Deacons and Priests. Concluding Rite and Blessing of Chrism was guided by the newly enthroned first lady Bishop-Right Reverend Melissa Skelton of New Westminster.
