Former Akali Dal sarpanch of Daula village in Gidderbaha Balwinder Singh alias Toti was arrested for allegedly thrashing a Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Soil Conservation Department outside the SDM office complex in Gidderbaha. A case under Sections 353, 186, 323 and 506 of the IPC has been registered against him. Mangat Rai Sharma, Sub-Divisional Officer, falls down after being thrashed by former sarpanch Balwinder Singh Toti (charging towards him) in Gidderbaha on Tuesday.
