MUKTSAR – A 40-year-old labourer has been booked for allegedly raping his minor daughter several times between 2009 and 2014 at nearby Bhagsar village.
The complaint lodged by the 19-year-old victim stated that her mother was aware of the sexual assault, but chose to keep mum. The victim is the eldest child. The police have also booked the victim’s mother for abetting in the crime.
The girl alleged her father first molested her in 2007 and then raped her in 2009 until her wedding. The girl gathered the courage to report the matter to the police after her husband suporrted her. The accused have been identified as Pappu Ram and Razia.
The police said the girl was taken to the Civil Hospital for a medical examination and the report was awaited.
