SURREY – The Supreme Court of Canada has reinstated “Life Members” of Surrey’s Laxmi Narayan Temple, who are breathing a sigh of relief that their memberships are still valid and they will be able to take part in the temple’s overdue elections.

According to information supplied by Krishan Bector, the Supreme Court of Canada “rejected 279 members put forth by the temple management.”

Therefore the rejected members are not eligible to participate in the 2014 election of Vedic Cultural Society, Bector informed.

“Original membership list as compiled and submitted by the Petitioners in the Court was approved,” Bector wrote in a press release. “The Honourable Judge ordered Society to be liable to pay cost of the Petitioners which is approximately $7,500. This is a wake-up call for the Members.”
