Athletic Scarlett Johansson rises to the occasion as Lucy. Never help a friend if you can avoid it. Odd as that advice may seem it should have been taken by this poor girl who ends up doing a friend a favour and winds up immersed in a battle for her life. Caught between a rock and a hrs place this young lady experiences an adrenalin rush second to none when some mind-altering drugs give her a new lease on the life.
Here the hunted becomes the hunter In This fast-paced revenge flick which sees a mentally strong woman “engage” a Top Level crime czar, Mr. Jang, in lawless Taiwan. Hot off his trailblazing bloodletting in the original Oldboy Min-sik Choi is almost as brutal and just as memorable as the ruthless businessman who rules by the gun, knife or name your weapon of choice.
Nice guy Morgan Freeman comes on strong as a scientist fascinated by Lucy’s Intellect which you too will find appealing In This relentless, well-thought out thriller. Fresh, fun and original Lucy delivers the goods in an edgy, science fiction kind of way.
