The suspect is wanted in an incident that took place April 28, 2013 at the Indo-Canadian owned Secret Resto Lounge located near Scott Road and 72nd Avenue. Police say the same suspects also attempted to assault a Secret Resto Lounge employee but the employee was able to avoid being attacked.

SURREY — Police are asking the public to help identify four suspects relating to a “serious aggravated assault” that took place in April 2013.

The suspect is wanted in an incident that took place April 28, 2013 at the Secret Resto Lounge located near Scott Road and 72nd Avenue. At that time, police responded to a call reporting an assault at 1:30 a.m. that morning.

When they arrived on scene, Surrey RCMP found a 39-year-old Surrey resident suffering from serious injuries that included several deep lacerations, contusions and a skull fracture that required surgery. Police say the same suspects also attempted to assault a Secret Resto Lounge employee but the employee was able to avoid being attacked, reported Now Newspaper.

“Indications are that the victim might have been trying to break up a fight, which attracted the attention of the suspects who assaulted him,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet in a release. “Although this investigation has progressed significantly since the attack, our investigators are looking for additional information that will assist them in bringing this matter to court.”

Police did not identify the suspect based on his ethnicity but he is said to be an Indo-Canadian man. Surrey RCMP’s Major Crimes Section is currently investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, using file number 2013-51682 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
