Dear Editor:

Kudos to local Surrey MPs and MLAs. Because they not only try and reach to voter during election campaign but each community occasion they take opportunity to remain present and mingle with community whether it is Vaishakhi, Diwali or Eid event.

For Muslim community Eid assimilation party was organized by local politician and in a response large number of Muslims turn out at Indian Banquet Hall.

Function was a mixture of two kinds of happiness and joy. First the celebration of Eid festival and second meeting with political representative of their constituency.

Such type of gathering reflects us that even though  we may not all share the same faith, we are all brought together by that which we do share, a commitment to our community, a commitment to a better future, and a compassion and humanity that compels us to make a better society for ourselves and our future generation.

It was a remarkable gathering in the annals of Surrey. Surrey MP JInny Sims, MP Jasbir Sandhu, MLA Bruce Ralston, MLA Sue Hammell and MLA Harry Bains anxiously met the community people .

Muslims are part and partial of Canadian life with its complex political, economical, cultural and social intersections and integration.
