RICHMOND – A South Asian candidate is among Renew Richmond Association, a civic slate of candidates for the Nov. 15 elections, which was announced this week.
Adil Awan, an air transport pilot and local business owner, is running for council with RRA.
“Young people today often demand their workplace to be easily accessible by transit. We’ve raised a whole new generation of transit users where a car is no longer considered a necessity. Richmond is also home to immigrants from world class cities the world where everything is built around public transit networks.” said Awan.
“We must build our city for a future where public transportation will play an increasing important role in city planning. Accessible office locations will help businesses retain top talents and attract young people to live in our City. Having the right density and diversity of amenities means seniors can consider giving up their cars and use public transit to get around.”
