Punjab Police IG Cheema Booked For Molesting Realtor's Wife

MOHALI – Two days after registering a case of kidnapping against Inspector General of Police Gautam Cheema and two others, the Mohali Police booked them on the charge of molesting Krispy Khaira, realtor Davinder Singh Gill’s wife.

They were earlier booked for allegedly kidnapping a proclaimed offender, Sumedh Gulati, from the Phase 1 police station. Gulati is a co-accused in a land fraud case along with Gill.

Confirming the development, Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohali, said Cheema, Ajay Chaudhary and a woman had been booked under Sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 452 (trespass), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act at the Mataur police station.

“The case has been registered on the complaint of Krispy Khaira following an inquiry by Superintendent of Police (Detective) GS Grewal,” Bhatti said.

Cheema and his accomplice Chaudhary have been hiding in some other state.  Police teams have been conducted raids at the possible hideouts of both accused in a case.

“We have dispatched our teams to Delhi and other places in search of the accused,” said Bhatti, Senior Superintendent of Police.

The police have booked Cheema, Chaudhary and two other unidentified accused on the charge of kidnapping, trespassing, wrongful confinement and criminal conspiracy.
