MANSA – A nurse working at the Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi was allegedly gangraped in Budhlada, Punjab. The 33-year-old victim told the police that she arrived at Budhlada on September 7 to meet Rama Kaur who had been hospitalised. She said she had met Rama in Delhi earlier.

The victim claimed that Balwinder Singh, who had befriended her over the phone some months ago, promised to accompany her to the hospital. But instead of being taken there, the accused took her to a solitary place where she was gangraped. The victim claimed she had nursed gangrape victim Damini when she was being treated at the Safdarjang Hospital.

The police have registered a case under Sections 363, 376-C, 342, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against 35-year-old accused Balwinder Singh and a 60-year-old man with the Sadar police.
