CIA Whistleblower Pays The Ultimate Price!

By Alan Samuel

Dare to speak the truth. Real time politics hits close to home in Kill The Messenger. Food for thought abounds in This trailblazer of a film from EOne Entertainment . Zero in on all the fun at Cineplex Odeon Theatres around B.C.

Taken from a true  story this jarring 112 minute tale takes us back in time to the heady 1980s. Way back when the American government had two wars going on: one involving the war on drugs the other danger in Central America. Never the twain shall meet but somehow a maverick reporter stumbled on the story of the decade.

Lone wolf writer Mark Webb made his living as a writer for a small California newspaper that few outside the beltway had ever heard of.  Cast as this everyday  family man with well-kept demons of his own is Jeremy Renner. By chance Webb’s Tenacity and hard work reveals a connection between drug smuggling into the American heartland through illicit activities of the American authorities and South American guerrillas.

Tension abounds in his jarring tale that shows how far a reporter will go to get at the truth and the all-out efforts wielded by secret spy  types to keep dirty secrets and illegal wars undercover.

Blessed with all-star A-rated cast, riveting tension and an air of mystery Kill The Messenger is must see entertainment that thrives on unsavoury characters, continual plot twists and turns and a dynamic thrusting performance from Jermy Renner that shows how the establishment can amend the truth.
