BRAMPTON – Police in the Toronto suburb of Brampton have identified a Indo-Canadian couple among the three people found dead last Sunday morning after an apparent double murder-suicide.

Hashmukhlal Mistry, 61, and Manjulaben Mistry, 57, were discovered along with a yet unidentified 91-year-old man inside a home on Hinchley Wood Grove, near Bovaird Drive East and Kennedy Road North, reported CTV Toronto.

Officers got a call around 10:40 a.m. from someone concerned about a relative inside the home.

Const. Fiona Thivierge said the relative was one of the three adults found dead.

Peel police say the deceased all lived at the home.

“We didn’t sleep very well last night. We were so disturbed by what happened,” one neighbour told CityNews.

Peel Const. George Tudos said police are trying to determine what led to the violence.

The coroner is investigating and an autopsy was to be conducted Tuesday in Toronto.

Peel Regional Police Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick said Monday that homicide investigators were still at the scene trying to piece together what happened.

Fitzpatrick says they are speaking with neighbours in the hopes of getting more information.

Neighbours told CTV Toronto that a couple, originally from India, had lived in the house for many years. They said the female resident was a bank employee and the male was a chemical engineer.

Bibi Hamid, one of the neighbours, called them “nice people.”
