Dear Editor:
We, members of the Multifaith Action Society of Canada, express our deep sadness and bereavement at the dreadful shooting in Ottawa this morning. As people of diverse faith,culture,spiritual expression and indigenous tradition, offer our prayers for the family of Guard who lost his life on duty.
We have to go on increasing awareness about our Canadian multifaith and multicultural character to sustain this type of terrible violent act. In our shock and grief we respose to the growing tide of hatred and adhere with our rich Canadian tradion- “love for all and hatred for none”. We all should rise and donot let the darkness of enmity or hatred envelopes our consciousness. We should also assure all the minorties that we are standing with them and innocents Canadians have nothing to fear from anykind of reprisal. Terrorists have no religion. They are evil, nothing less and nothing more.
We pledge together, to offer prayer for peace. Any tragedy of this nature, gives challenge to Canadians to remain peaceful and cultivate compassion and harmony.
