Diwali On The Beach!

For the first time, Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated at White Rock beach. A diverse crowd enjoyed the festivities presented by Sanatan Cultural Society. Festival was made possible with support by City of White Rock, White Rock Tourism, White Rock Business Improvement Association, Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP), Hospice Society, Semiahmoo Arts and many other businesses and community organization. Many politicians and VIPs as well as Indo-Canadian and mainstream community people came out to celebrate the event.  “I think it is a very successful event as we got support from so many organizations and it provided opportunity to all of us learn about others and their cultures. As We can build better communities by understanding better, what others believe in and this was the perfect occasion for that” said Vivek Vasistha director of Sanatan Cultural Society.
