SURREY – For over 9 years Surrey has had one party rule.  That is not good for democracy – that has not been good for Surrey, say Brenda Locke and Stephen Gammer, who are both seeking council seats as Team Surrey .

“Unnecessary Trips by Mayor and Council to India, England, Israel and Puerto Rico and the posh Surrey Economic Summit have cost Taxpayers millions of dollars.  Dollars that should have been spent for the betterment of Surrey citizens,” said Locke.

Team Surrey wants an external and independent audit of the construction costs of Surrey’s new City Hall.

Gammer said: ”It’s about time that the taxpayer’s of the city know exactly what the costs were for the construction of the new City Hall.  The former Mayor said the new City Hall would cost 50 million dollars and now it is estimated to be over $150 million. There needs to be an external and independent audit now.”

Locke said: “Stephen and I will make it our job to ask the tough questions and get to the bottom of this ridiculous, out of control spending.  City Hall is just one of the mega projects, what about other projects under construction.”

Locke and Gammer believe in citizen involvement and access to your City Hall and its Council.  They said Team Surrey stands firmly for Accountability and Transparency.
