The LINK was invited to an exclusive Tasting event at Surrey’s best new Indian restaurant Pinch of Spice, which hosted our staff – yours truly editor (me), manager Rakesh Puri, sales associate Naresh Kumar (Nick) and our dear friend Gian Singh Dhesi, local businessman and federal Liberal power player!

First, vow what a spread of absolutely tantalizing dishes that Harry’s talented kitchen crew and his very professional servers brought out for us. It  was absolutely an embarrassment of riches when it comes to high end Indian cuisine!

Harry and his family have been in the restaurant business for decades and it shows in the quality of preparation of PoS’s dishes, everything from the tandoori style meats, seafood and veggie dishes to the variety of great tasting meat and vegetable curries and daals.

Pinch of Spice has a large diverse menu with specialty items being added by Harry on a weekly basis. For us, the evening began with the tandoori dishes like Tandoori Chicken, Seekh Kebabs and for veggie lovers at our table – Paneer platter. The tandoori dishes were had the right touch of spices and what made them really stand out was the tenderness of the meat, done just right to for them to be a burst of flavor and spices in your mouth.

For the main course, again a buffet of  dishes were laid out for our party, including Butter Chicken, Fish Curry, Goat Curry and Saag Paneer and Raita to cool down the inferno of spicy smorgasbord. Again, Harry and his kitchen crew have worked to perfect the blend of spices in their curry dishes so as to give each dish a distinctive flavor and taste.

PoS has great breads, the well prepared naans that have the just right texture to tandoori rotis as well as stuffed naans that really complement the curry dishes.

It was one of the things that really stood out for me when I first visited the restaurant with my family a few months ago, just shortly after it had opened. For a long time we just couldn’t get a good Indian meal in Surrey (yes there are some but my family is very picky) until we went to Pinch of Spice. After which my family declared that it was again safe to go eat Indian in Surrey and not be disappointed by the bland.

“I’m looking to position Pinch of Spice to the young and those who love the restaurant experienced combined with great food,” Harry Aggarwal told the LINK.

The restaurant is open seven days a week for dinner and lunch from Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 pm. and Friday and Saturday from 11:00pm to 11 pm. They also do take-out and delivery orders usually till 9-9:30.
