AMRITSAR – The police has held the driver of the truck under the offence of negligence and rash driving which caused an accident of the vehicle with a school bus yesterday.
Around eight schoolchildren studying in Holy Heart Presidential School had sustained injuries with a girl student, Muskan, receiving serious injuries in the accident. She is still in the ICU of Hartej Hospital.
Ironically, neither Muskan nor her father Joginder Pal Singh, were made the part of the investigation.
When asked, Joginder said he had no choice but to believe the police investigation. He also resented that no one from the school management cared to enquire about the health of his child yet.
Negating the perception of the parents of affected children, the police in its investigation, zeroed in that it was the driver of the truck who did not spare ample space for the school bus to pass through. Both vehicles were running in the same direction on the Airport road.
A case has been registered against the driver of the truck, Kulwant Singh, a resident of Roriwala village, here, under Sections 279/337/338/427, IPC, at the Cantonment Police Station.
