Indo-Canadian Couple Arrested In Calgary Drug Bust That Nets $120,000 In Cash

CALGARY – An Indo-Canadian couple were part of RCMP drug bust in Calgary that netted the agency Methamphetamine and $120,000 in cash.

Gursharanjit Singh Parmar, 31 and Akwinder Kaur Dayal, 32, were among the three people charged with drug offences including Trevor Louis Honish, 46.

They are all facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime. All three have first court appearances set for December 12th, 2014 at Calgary Provincial Court.

Members of the Calgary RCMP Serious and Organized Crime team seized over one pound of Crystal Meth and the large quantity of Canadian currency on December 9th.

Crystal Meth is a highly addictive stimulant that is smoked by a user. It has become more popular in Alberta where it is the next most prevalent street drug behind Marihuana and Cocaine. The quantity of Methamphetamine seized on this investigation represents approximately 5000 individual doses.
