Confirming one of the six samples of the dead geese positive for the dreaded avian influenza (H5N1)virus, the UT Administration has suspended every activity in and around Chandigarh’s famous Sukhna Lake this week. The Administration on Wednesday banned morning and evening walks at the lake. “Though no alert has been issued by the Centre, we have banned the activities at the lake as a precautionary measure”, said KK Sharma, Adviser to the UT Administrator.
