BURNABY – It’s hard to believe that a young seventeen year old from the lower mainland is making waves in the international Punjabi music industry.

Karan Aujla, the grade eleven Burnaby South student, has scored a number of hits.  Known for his writing talent his latest hit “Range” sung by Jassi Gill has become the biggest hit on the album.

“I wrote Range when I was in Chandigarh and cruising in a Range-Rover with my best friend Mac Benipal.  The words just came to me and I put them together.  Then I completed the song sitting in the Park in Canada”.

With a number of songs sung by prominent singers in Punjab his collaboration with Mac Benipal and first recording “Cel phone” also proved to be very popular, especially with the young.  Aujla is now in the process of recording a few more of his songs and will make them available in the coming months.  In the meantime he is busy with projects and video shoots with the likes of Sukhshinder Shinda, Geeta Zaildar, Gagan Kokri, Jatinder Brar amongst other.

With a Facebook following of over 15,000 fans he has quickly emerged as a very popular artist.  Perhaps his humbleness, maturity and depth of meaning in his songs is touching people’s hearts.  A relationship that started with his big hit sung by Ekjot Hundal “Pyar”.

“People talk to me on the phone about projects but when they meet me they can’t believe what they are seeing.  They expect someone older”,” Aujla said.

Indeed, wisdom is gained by life experiences and is not a reflection of age.  No doubt there is more to come from this young artist that has quickly gained notice from some of the big names in the industry.
