RICHMOND – It was an unique way of celebrating the birth day of Rev. Sun Myung Moon as a True Parent’s Birthday by the members of Universal Peace Federation of Greater Vancouver on February 22 in Hilton Hotel, Richmond. More than 250 guests of various faith traditions and member of their own organization participated in the celebration.
Rev. Moon has founded several peace organizations to promote peace , eradicate injustice, oppression, violence and cruelty around the world. He believed in ‘God Centered Family’ in a wider sense- that everyone should respect , love and take care of each other human being as they do in family. He argued that if family is enjoying peace and prosperity then community, nation and then world will have the peace and prosperity. His this ideology and philosophy of spirituality has transformed millions of people around the world .
He was all in favour of empowering the women. He propagated in favour of proper education, health- care, art and sports programs. His last project was – ‘The Bering Strait Tunnel Project’ and it was designed to remove the barriers and bridge the East-West and North -South.
The celebration commenced at 5.00 PM with Rosario Strings music and opening remark was given by Mr. Steve Pecarsky. Video clip was shown on the life of Rev. Moon. Acharya S.P. Dwivedi offered the congratulatory message; Key Note address was given by Dr Moon Shik Kim and the heart touching testimony was given by Rev. Alan Wilding. At the end, guests were served dinner.
