Swine Flu Kills Two More People

FAZILKA – Rajwant Kaur (42) of Kamalawala village in Fazilka district died of swine flu at Medical College, Faridkot, on Sunday night. Official sources said Rajwant was admitted to the local Civil Hospital on February 18. Her medical report was sent to the PGIMER. Keeping in view her deteriorating condition, the doctors referred her to the Medical College, Faridkot, on February 19.

The PGIMER confirmed it was a case of swine flu. The report was received here on February 20. Dr Yuvraj Narang, Epidemiologist Officer, Fazilka, said she died at 10 pm yesterday.

The Faridkot Medical College authorities handed over Rajwant’s body to her kin this morning. She was cremated in Kamalawala village.

Abohar: Shivani of Jammu Basti here, who was referred to a Faridkot hospital yesterday with symptoms of swine flu, has died. She was eight-month pregnant. She was initially examined here, but had to be referred as the Civil Hospital has no ventilator. A team visited her house and gave preventive medicines to members of her family.
