OTTAWA – Jagmeet Singh, NDP MPP in the Ontario Parliament, gave a short speech and tribute to Bhagat Singh on the day of his martyrdom. Jagmeet Singh was on record in the parliament stating that Bhagat Singh didn’t risk his life for the current India where mass human rights violations have been committed.
“84 years ago today, 3 freedom fighters led by Bhagat Singh fought the British Raj as they aspired to bring an end to the injustice, exploitation and violence of the state.
Today, as we also reflect on the 15th anniversary of Chattisinghpora massacre, we’re reminded that the freedom Bhagat Singh fought for, is a freedom many still aspire to see.” MPP Jagmeet Singh
