Not every Miss World Canada contestant holds a big fundraiser where the town’s cream of the crop business people like Fruiticana’s Tony Singh, Dejardin Financial’s Perminder Chohan and other business and media luminaries show up to send you to the pageant organized by Ike Lalji but then Dharinee Bhatt isn’t your ordinary contestant. She is heir to the multi-million Palm Oil distribution empire called Natu’oil. Dhatt’s family came from Malaysia in 2003 and her father Haresh Bhatt continued what he knew best here after he managed 60,700 hectare Malaysian palm plantation. Now their company does sales of the palm products to the tune of $120 million a year and growing.
Dharinee is in good stead with soon to be appointed their family’s Holding company director and possibly winning the Miss World Canada Crown before she goes off and finishes her MBA!
