Indo-Americans Honor United States District Court Chief Judge

NEW YORK – Samir Chopra, President – Elect of Indian Americans of New York, recently honored the Chief Judge of the Eastern District of New York. Honorable Judge Bagley was nominated by President Bush in 1990.

Prior she was a trial Attorney at the Department of Justice and was an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of General Crimes. Samir Chopra said, “ Judge Bagley has her legacy  steeped in public service, her commitment is to the District Court and its constituents. She is a leader by example and has a long track record of fairness, honesty and leadership. “

Chopra, a marathon runner and triathlete, is a past recipient of the Walter Upjohn Award. He has served as Director of the South Asian Bar Association, Trustee of the Hindu Center in New York and Director of the Indian American Committee, after completing his education at Emory University, INSEAD and Harvard.
