Chandanjot Singh Gill has been charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm with ammunition, one count of unsafe storage of a firearm, and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance. Munroop Singh Hayer was also arrested and has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

SURREY – Police have charged two more Indo-Canadian young men in their ongoing crackdown on rampant gun violence in the Surrey-Delta area which has led to much community and police effort to stem the violence.
The LINK recently wrote a number of articles, saying the RCMP has to follow similar tactics as Vancouver Police did in nabbing criminals who were causing wayward violence in that city ahead of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
The combined police forces seem to be using the same strategy of aggressively going after criminals in the Surrey-Delta area.
Chandanjot Singh Gill, an 18-year-old Surrey man, has been charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm with ammunition, one count of unsafe storage of a firearm, and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance.
Gill has been remanded into custody and is next due in Surrey Provincial Court on May 29th, 2015.
Munroop Singh Hayer, a 21-year-old Surrey man, was also arrested and has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
He was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on June 3rd, 2015.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of BC (CFSEU-BC), along with the Surrey RCMP and Delta Police Department’s collaborative approach to prevent, disrupt, and dismantle the groups believed to be involved in the shootings that have occurred in Surrey and Delta over the past two months resulted in these recent arrests which also netted the seizure of both marijuana and guns.
On May 12th, 2015 the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of BC (CFSEU-BC), along with the Surrey RCMP and Delta Police Department, executed a search warrant on the residence of one of the men believed to be involved in the ongoing conflict.
The residence, located in the 7300 block 123 Street, Surrey, along with a vehicle, was searched and bulk marijuana, as well as four rifles and one handgun were discovered and seized. The guns are currently being forensically examined to determine if there may be any links to any other crimes.
This warrant, the arrests, and seizures come days after an update was announced advising of the joint efforts of the CFSEU-BC, RCMP, and Delta PD.
On April 20th, 2015 a dedicated tip line was launched to gather information about the shootings. To date, there have been 148 calls to the tip line with 15 being of high value to the investigations.
