LUDHIANA – In a major breakthrough in a serial killer case, the city police have found Baljinder Singh, close aide of Baldev Singh, who is facing charges of committing eight murders.

Baljinder Singh, alias Amarjeet, who is currently lodged in the Nagpur jail, is facing charges of killing a factory owner and his seven employees in Goregaon, Mumbai, in 2001.

DCP Naveen Singla said the police would soon take Amarjeet Singh on a production warrant to the city to find out how many more murders Baldev and Baljinder committed so far.

According a news reports, in 2004, both the accused had killed nearly 105 people across the country and were stated to be the most dreaded criminals.

“Accused Amarjeet was undergoing a jail term by changing his identity. He was convicted in the Goregaon mass murder case in which eight persons were killed,” said the DCP.

The police said Baldev identified his accomplices when he was shown the photographs of the accused persons caught in the Goregaon murder case.

When Amarjeet’s picture was shown to Baldev, he identified him as Baljinder.

Baldev Singh, a resident of Jagraon, was caught on June 3 for committing eight murders in 2001. Since then police has been looking for Baldev’s aide Baljinder.
