SURREY – The first ever Akhand Path (continuous recitation of Sikh Holy book Sri Guru Granth Sahib) at Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society’s (PICS) Assisted Living Seniors facility was a great success with hundreds of people visiting the facility last week.

The idea of organizing an Akhand Path was conceived by the residents of PICS Assisted Living, who wanted to embellish their spirituality and serve the community.

The residents were joined in their efforts by the hard working staff of Assisted Living who worked day and night to make this an extremely successful event.

“It is wonderful to note that residents at PICS Assisted Living have taken such a keen interest in organizing the Akhand Path. This goes to show that the residents are truly happy here and consider PICS Assisted Living as their home in the true sense of the word,” said Mr. Gill.

Mr. Gill also applauded the efforts of staff members who worked until the wee hours of the night to welcome people to the facility and made sure that not one guest left without partaking the langar.

“I am truly thankful to the staff for the dedication, devotion they showed in making this event a huge success.

PICS is also grateful to all those who donated to PICS Multicultural Long Term Care home during the event and managed to raise over $8,000 during the event. “The community’s support for the project is truly phenomenal. Thank you,” said Mr. Gill.
