– Even Punjabi marker pioneer Kewal Singh Pabla was back in the Liberal fold for the big rally after temporarily switching over to the Conservative candidate Wai Young.

VANCOUVER – Over a 1000 strong Liberal supporters came out for a boisterous rally to support their local Vancouver South Liberal Candidate Harjit Sajjan, who introduced Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau to the large crowd.

“As most of you know, I have worn a uniform in the service of Canada since I graduated from high school. And my goal, along with all of my fellow candidates, is to serve Canada,” said Sajjan to cheers and applause. “Whether you came here 100 years ago or 10 years ago, all of you have contributed to the success of this great nation we call home and you deserve a government that honours your hard work.”

Sajjan introduced the other local Liberal candidates in attendance before welcoming  Trudeau.

“Harjit truly understands what service is all about,” said Trudeau. “He served this country in many extraordinary ways: as a police officer, as a soldier and now he has stepped up yet again. We’re lucky to have Harjit on our team and I’m honoured to have him by my side.”

Trudeau went on to deliver a speech that outlined the Liberal Party vision for Canada. He peppered it with anecdotes from his childhood and demonstrated a real understanding of the issues that are important in Vancouver such as transit, affordability, the economy and protection of the coastline.

“What an honour for us to host British Columbia’s biggest rally of the election, right here in this riding,” said Sajjan. “We’re going to grab hold of the momentum from this event and keep working hard to bring real change to Vancouver South.”
