MOGA – The BKU (Ekta) and a dozen farmers’ and farm labourers’ organisations today decided to continue their agitation against the ruling SAD-BJP government across the state to press for their demands for a higher compensation for cotton growers who lost their crop in the whitefly attack; besides, better prices for the basmati crop.

BKU (Ekta) general secretary Sukhdev Kokri said farmers would raise black flags and would not allow ministers, parliamentary secretaries, MPs and MLAs to attend public functions.

“The SAD-BJP government has ditched the farmers by backtracking from their promises of giving adequate compensation for crop losses,” he said.
