But the problem India has in convincing the West is that in the West, Sikhs and others can seek criticize India for its crimes against Sikhs and other minorities, growing intolerance and even seek a Khalistan as long as they do it peacefully under the rights and laws of the countries they reside.
NEW DELHI – India plans to share with Britain the information about the activities of the UK-based Sikh radical groups that are pushing anti-Indian activities in the country and across Europe.
The dossier, which is being planned to be handed over by India during the Modi visit, says radical groups have been organising theoretical classes to bring Sikh youth onboard and that two people associated with Youth wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (Mann) and Babbar Khalsa International-UK were planning to hold theoretical radicalisation classes for Sikh youth, sources in the Home Ministry told the media.
“Besides imparting ideological indoctrination, youths would also be imparted theoretical training to make improvised explosives devises using common chemicals by giving live demonstrations. Such classes have been held in recent past at Gurunanak Gurdwara, Spark Hill, Stratford, Birmingham (December 2014), Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Glasgow (January 2015),” the Indian dossier notes.
Those identified include Avtar Singh Khanda, vice-president of SAD (Mann), who is said to be a close associate of Jagtar Singh Tara, and Paramjit Singh Pamma of BKI-UK.
The documents notes that in a July 31 meeting in Smethwick, UK, in support of hunger strike of separatist Surat Singh Khalsa, radical Sikh youths announced launching of a new organisation namely ‘Miri Piri Foundation’. The meeting was attended 125 persons, mostly Sikhs, including one Khem Singh.
Identifying Khem Singh, as an apparent important activist of this newly-formed organisation, the dossier says he stated the goal of the organisation is creation of Khalistan.
“While addressing the gathering, he appealed to Sikh youths to participate in formation of a separate Sikh land. He emphasised that it is the foremost responsibility of Miri Piri Foundation to propagate the Khalistan ideology among the Sikh masses,” dossier narrates.
