RCMP released this image of Farah Mohamed Shirdon in announcing numerous terrorism-related criminal charges against the former Calgary resident.

CALGARY – Farah Mohamed Shirdon, the Toronto-born former Calgary resident who travelled to fight with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, has been added to the Interpol wanted list.

The 22-year-old’s name, photo, and description now appears along with hundreds of others on the international police organization’s published list of fugitives wanted by law-enforcement agencies around the world, reported CBC News.

RCMP charged Shirdon in absentia in September with numerous terrorism-related criminal offences.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Shirdon’s arrest and Mounties said at the time they also planned to issue a red notice via Interpol.

Shirdon faces six charges under Section 83 of the Criminal Code dealing with terrorism:

Leaving Canada to participate in the activity of a terrorist group.

Participating in the activity of a terrorist group.

Two counts of instructing a person to carry out terrorist activity.

Two counts of commission of an indictable offence for a terrorist group.
