SURREY – Residents in a quiet Surrey neighbourhood have been left rattled after gunfire woke them early Sunday morning.
Police received a call just after 12:30 a.m. about shots being fired into a house in the area of 91st Avenue and 138a Street.
A family was sleeping inside the house at the time of the shooting. It was not immediately clear how many people were home, but no one was injured, reported CTV news.
Police confirmed several casings were found at the scene, and people living nearby reported hearing numerous gunshots.
“I only heard it went bang, bang, bang,” said neighbour Sucha Gill, who told CTV News he believes six shots were fired.

“Imagine if this would have happened in the day, when there are kids around,” he said.
Surrey has been plagued with dozens of shootings since last spring. In November, a father of two was shot and killed in a car.
Police have not confirmed if this shooting has been linked to any others. An investigation is ongoing.
