FATEHGARH – If we want to be on top of the world in the 21st century, we have to empower the youth through quality education as education is the only means through which we can take our country ahead of the world.

This was stated by Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Punjab & Haryana, while addressing the annual function of the Continental Group of Institutes (CGI) at Jalbehra village.

“Though respective governments have been making efforts since Independence to introduce quality education and various commissions were constituted, their recommendations remained on papers and could not be implemented. However, now the Union Government is making all efforts by launching “Skill India” and “Start-up India” campaigns,” he said.

He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared at world platform that 21st century belongs to India and even Swami Vivekananda had already predicted that 21st century would belong to India.”

He said, “Education does not mean getting a job or knowing reading, writing or accountancy but to become a complete man capable of having ability to impress others and develop leadership quality.”

Laying stress on the role of faculty, he said the future of the nation was shaped in classroom, so teachers should become role model for students.
