There is always a big crowd when the French come to town and especially when they bring with them their finest wines from the wine-rich Bordeaux region. Bordeaux 2013, a highly exclusive event, was held in conjunction with the BC Liquor Distribution Branch at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Thursday night and it was a delightful wine tasting affair featuring some of the best vintners from France. The highly exclusive event featured Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux – a group of internationally revered winery owners from Bordeaux – who showcase their wines to industry and the public on a Canadian Stage. Since 1973, the Union has travelled around the globe, drawing ever-increasing acclaim for one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions. Never before has the group made a stop in British Columbia. There were a total of 45 of Bordeaux’s top Chateau owners, many of whose families have been producing world-class wines for hundreds of years. They are on tour across Canada to promote Le Week-End to be held in Bordeaux on June 4 and 5 this year!
