CHANDIGARH – Bilateral economic co-operation between Punjab and Ontario province (Canada) got a boost when Canadian IT firm Kitchener showed keen interest in investing $100 million to establish data centre services at IT Park, Mohali.

Treading on road to bilateral co-operation and to give fillip to dialogue and exchanges in various fields with specialised focus on trade and commerce, Ontario and Punjab inked an MoU which emphasised working together to advance mutually beneficial avenues of economic cooperation.

An official spokesman said the MoU was signed in the presence of Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal and Kathleen Wynne, Ontario premier, by principal secretary, industry and commerce, Anirudh Tewari and Helan Angus, deputy minister, ministry of citizenship immigration and international trade, at Punjab Bhawan late this evening.
